Les Sables d'Olonne (90km to the south of Nantes) is a lively resort, known as the Perle de la Cote de Lumiere for its magnificent south-facing fine sandy beach and exceptionally mild climate. The large bustling fishing port, with pretty quays and marina, make this an attractive and exciting coastal destination. Les Sables d'Olonne also has the "Pavillon Bleu" (Blue Flag) label.

Other activities

A whole range of activities is available in the resort, including watersports, horse-riding, tennis and golf, rambling trails through the resort's vast green spaces, dunes and wetland forests offering preserved flora and fauna. Plus, enjoy spa treatments at the thalassatherapy centre and browsing the four street markets held in the pedestrianised city centre. The resort also has a casino, nightclub and bowling alley.

Practical information

LES SABLES D'OLONNE is a well-equipped resort with an all year round shuttle bus service, doctors and pharmacies, children/teenagers' clubs, public swimming pool, horse riding centre, golf course, nautical centre, hiking and cycling trails, restaurants offering local specialities, supervised beaches. The resort also has the "Station Voile" (Sailing Resort) label.
