Nestled between Cabourg (7km) and Deauville (12km), Houlgate, a renowned seaside resort since the late 19th Century, is one of the prettiest towns located on Normandy's "Cote Fleurie". Houlgate boasts both the fine sandy beaches of a typical French seaside town, and the lush green countryside of the surrounding areas of the Pays d'Auge. Houlgate also boasts stylish architecture, as well as a seafront promenade and shaded footpaths that are ideal for exploring the town at your leisure. Houlgate has long been seen as a model seaside resort in France, attracting a wide range of visitors.
In and Around Houlgate:
Houlgate is an excellent base to exlpore some of Normandy's most impressive sites and landmarks from. A trip to Caen and its castle (30km) and the D-Day beaches are highly reccommended, as is a visit to the pretty port of Honfleur (25km from Houlgate).
