LE VIEUX-BOUCAU is located 2km from Port-d'Albret and 7km from Moliets was built around a salt-water lake. The resort is renowned for its fine sandy beach.

Sports and leisure

The resort and surrounding area offer a variety of museums, including Robotics museum in Soustons (8 km away), museum of traditions and old tools in Soustons at the Chateau de la Pandelle, an open-air museum in Capbreton (20 km away) dedicated to aquariums, marine life, and the local history of fishing, and the Chalosse museum in Montfort (55 km away), exhibiting rural life and habitat in Chalosse at the end of the 19th century. Port d'Albret also offers watersports, including sailing, wind-suring, electric boats, and canoë-kayaking, plus fishing in the sea and the lake and a beach club for children. The resort also offers golf, mini-golf, "Pelote basque", tennis, quad bikes, paintball and an adventure course, as well as horse-riding, forest walks (guided walks possible). There are also guided walks in the the Pyrenees mountains and in the Basque country available for visitors keen to explore further afield.
