Situated on the coast, Lit et Mixe is 20km south of Mimizan, 42km from Dax and 50km north of Hossegor. This small, traditional village was built at the entrance to a large pine forest and offers modern facilities and amenities in a picturesque setting, 7km from the closest ocean beaches of Cap de l'Homy (supervised) and Yons (non-supervised). This resort has been awarded a "Pavillon Bleu" label, thanks to its clean beaches and waters.

Sports and leisure
A variety of activities are available in the resort, including numerous cycle paths leading to Aureilhan lake near Mimizan and towards Meon to Courant d'Huchet, with certain paths reserved for mountain bikes. The resort boasts the vast Plaine de Pigeon wetland, home to free-roaming cows and horses, and there are various horse riding centres with trails taking riders through the area's pine forests. There are 55km of walking trails, including the Cap d'Homy route, which boasts a fitness trail and orientation paths. Visitors can also make the most of wind-surfing on the lakes (20km away), 9-hole and 18-hole golf courses (25km away), and fishing, as well as the local restaurants and cinema.
