Gateway to Spain, between the Pyrenees and the Atlantic ocean, Hendaye is a holiday resort renowned for its water therapy centre and for its excellent sailing opportunities. It also boasts one of the most beautiful sand beaches on the Basque Coast, and is the perfect base for exploring the towns and villages that make up the wider region.

A range of activities and amenities are available in the resort, including watersports such as sailing, surfing, diving, and canoëing, fishing, boat hire, tennis, swimming pool, golf (4 km away), Pelote basque, mini-golf, local shops, restaurants, and tapas bars, as well as a casino and cinema. In nearby Urrugne, visitors can explore the "Parc Florenia"; 44 acres of gardens complete with a promenade, which takes 2 hours to complete.
