Located in the M{doc region, famous for its wine production, Carcans is a resort set in between ocean and forest, on the shores of the largest freshwater lake in France (Hourtin-Carcans lake). Carcans-Plage is a pleasant little seaside resort dotted with cycle paths running through a pine forest along the sandy beaches of the Côte d'Argent (Silver coast) attracting sunbathers, surfers and swimmers.
