Located in the heart of the Portes du Soleil, Chatel (1235m) is just only 4km from the Swiss border, and has maintained a traditional Alpine village style and atmosphere, thanks to its well-preserved and charming wooden and stone chalet architecture and lack of modern, purpose-built structures. Chatel boasts all the charms of a typical and traditional Savoyard village and is a great base for enjoying the mountain air or exploring the surrounding area.

Activities available in Chalet include tennis, mini-golf, a golf practice area, table tennis, boules, archery, potholing, climbing, mountain biking, paragliding (for all abilities), roller skating, summer skiing, canyoning, hydrospeeding, rafting, kayaking, swimming pool, fishing in the Vonnes lake or Drance river, as well as a cinema, nightclub, bowling and restaurants.The ski lifts run in the summer for those who wish to use them from hiking or mountain biking.
