Beds in France are normally wooden and have slatted wood bases. Many residences have sofa beds and pull-out beds. Some beds have bases directly on the floor with no legs. Bunk beds: please note that the upper bunk is not suitable for children under 6.
A Mezzanine apartment is a split level apartment with an open room space above the lounge, usually used as a bedroom, accessed by means of a loft ladder, and may have sloping walls/ceilings. Please note that ladders/staircases can be very steep and are not recommended for children or the elderly.
Electricity is 220/240 volts; plugs and plug sockets are different so a 2 pin adaptor will be necessary. Please note that charges are much higher in France than in the UK. Charges are included in our price only when indicated in the price panel. Where applicable, these should be in the region of 30-45 EUROS/accommodation/week.
A deposit is required on arrival at all self-catering accommodation. This is sometimes payable in cash only. Please ensure you take enough local currency. Deposits will only be returned if the accommodation is deemed to have been left in perfect order following an inventory check. It is advisable to take cleaning materials with you. Please note that in certain residences, the deposit is returnable by post in the form of a postal order.
We will do our best to ensure any special requests (for cots, high chairs, sea views, ground floor apartments etc) are met; however we can never guarantee them. In some cases, a supplement may be payable.
On arrival please take note of the Reception hours at your accommodation. You should aim to arrive at your apartment between 17.00-20.00.
This is a holiday tax levied at the discretion of the local authority. It is generally between 0.5-1 EUROS/person/day and is payable in resort on arrival.
Opening dates are usually 1 July-31 August, although precise dates cannot be given and vary from one residence to another. Please note that most swimming-pools in France do not permit the wearing of swimming shorts, only trunks, in the pool.
Unless the availability of satellite TV is indicated in the accommodation description, TV channels will be in French.
Where we advertise Childrens' Clubs, please note that these are subject to availability and demand, and may operate only in high season. Charges may be applicable. These resorts are popular with holiday-makers throughout Europe, allowing your children to make friends of all nationalities.
Travelling outside school holiday periods can offer you considerable savings. The weather is often just as pleasant, and restaurants, beaches and roads are less crowded. However, it is possible that certain sports/leisure facilities or organised activities may not be on offer in your resort outside July and August.
Please remember that tourist regions are constantly under development and you may be affected by this. It is also important to be aware that resorts are very lively in summer and therefore noisy. The main road and rail tracks run along the length of the Cote d'Azur.
