Perched on a rock and surrounded by high fortifications with plunging views over the Adriatic, DUBROVNIK is considered as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. The walled city is best explored on foot, walking through its narrow streets and along the walls, it is famous for its many churches as well as a 14th century Franciscan monastery.
