A word of advice from Lagrange : Please, do respect the environment.
Vaud (or Waadt in German) is the French speaking area located in the south-west of Switzerland, famous for its cheese : the "Gruyere", its cows with big bells hanging from their necks, clear water lakes, green hills and 'joie de vivre'. The attraction to Vaud is Lake Geneva, its pleasure port and the famous fountain. On either side of the lake lie the towns of Geneva and Montreux, worth a visit, but the wild countryside is the main feature of the area which makes it an ideal place for keen walkers and mountain bikers alike.
